Laser Cutting: Part One (Inspo and Practicing Patterns)

Patterns

The Base Photos:

Pattern from one of my chairs. Has a fun scale-like pattern. With colour and inner shape repetition and patterning as well.

Rug pattern that has a plethora of fun shapes. Especially the diamond/star and square shapes that encompass the other smaller elements.

Just a random book I own that has this interesting pattern on the front. It's raised and made from a plastic that is meant to mimic metal.
Because of all the different nooks and crannies, I decided to choose this one. There are a variety of ways to approach tracing this to create a pattern.

Another shape to add interest and more changing of shading.

Some shading to figure out the colour palette.

Various arrangements of the base tile.
