Make That Shape

Progress and Challenges That I Encountered

Starting with aligning the circle with the end snap and where the four corners meet.

Using the fillet tool to round the corners instead of using other circles.

Various ways and curve tools to try and draw the connections between the circles.

First attempt with the split - the bottom section doesn't have caps on the ends. Didn't trim the middle part of the cutting line out.

Doubled up the cutting line, trimmed the middle section out, and used the double line so that both sections had the cap at the end.

The copy didn't quite fit, so I used the scale tools.

Using the rotate tool so that all of the circles are the same size and end up on each corner.

Used the individual anchor points to shape the star to the trace shape.

Using the split tool, after exploding both stars, to properly cut up each of the lines so that the fillet tool works on the inner corners.

Once again, not quite the proportions of the trace shape below - the scale tool was used to fix that.

The two parts of the curve weren't connected.

Didn't know the number of circles included in the first one that is used to set up the command.
